About the work

Brihadeshwara Temple (originally known as Peruvudaiyar Kovil) locally known as Thanjai Periya Kovil built by Raja Raja Cholan I built during the years 1003 - 1010 CE. is one of the oldest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site declared on 1987
It is an exemplary example of a fully realized Tamil architecture.Being one of the most efficient architectural ways that the shadow of the temple never falls on the earth, the tower so called Goburam which having 80 kilo tons made up of one stone, which is challenging to our science research nowadays to carry a 80 kilo tons to the top of the temple whose height is 247 feet.
