Smitha Rao

I am Smitha Rao, an IT professional turned artist/art educator currently based in Bangalore. Although drawing was my childhood passion, I took it seriously only since 2018, after I quit the Corporate World! I had moved to United Kingdom at that time and got a chance to explore a new medium- Coloured Pencils. I instantly fell in love with it, mainly because of the amount of realism one could achieve using it. I am completely self-taught when it comes to Coloured Pencils. My drawings are highly detailed, colourful and hyper realistic.
At present, I collaborate with reputed Coloured Pencil brands and review their Products, promote them and make art tutorials for them
I have done few Group Exhibitions with “Akanksha”- a platform for self-taught women artists, in 2020-21
I have conducted Coloured Pencils Workshops on different platforms
I have completed the Art Facilitator Course in Artville Academy, where I got the opportunity to explore several mediums and art forms
