Abhija Sivakala

Abhija Sivakala is Film and Theatre actor working across the country and
internationally over a decade. She has acted in over 21 Feature Films. Abhija holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Fine Arts and also has also worked professionally as an animator. As film actor some
of the roles for which Abhija was critically acclaimed in Malayalam Cinema are from the films,
Ozhivu divasathe Kali, Munroe Island, Njan Steve Lopez, Action hero biju, Udaharanam sujatha
to name some of them. She has been nominated in several festivals for her exceptional
performances in some of the films. Her films has not just commercially been appreciated but
also have traveled to National and International Film Festivals like, International Film Festival of
Kerala(IFFK), Mumbai International Film Festival (MAMI), International Film Festival of
Rotterdam (IFFR), New Jersey International Film Festival, Lake City International Festival,
Washington DC South Asian Film Festival and many more.



As a Theater actor, Abhija worked with national and international theater directors. She worked with ‘Abhinaya theatre and research center’ for over four years. While in Abhinaya she acted in theater productions like, ‘Macbeth’, ‘Invisible cities’, ‘Pacha’ and many more. As a freelance theater actor, Abhija worked with international theater productions such as, ‘Las Indias’ and ‘Tsunami Express’ directed by Elias Cohen from Chile, ‘Once upon a time’ directed by Francoise Calvel from France, ‘Automatarium’ directed by David Berga from Spain, ‘Saree Rosa’ directed by Alexandra from Chile and many more. The productions in which Abhija has been part of, travelled nationally and internationally in various International Theater Festivals. Some of the theatre festivals Abhija has been part of are, Mahindra Excellence in Theater Awards, International Theater Festival of Kerala, New Performance Festival conducted by India Foundation for the Arts and many more.



Apart from Films, Abhija is currently interested in developing her own style of
performance by incorporating deviced methods in performance making. She also is keen
exploring the intersectionality between the Visual Arts and Performing Arts as she has her
formal training in Visual Arts and professional exposure in performing Arts. Abhija being a

trained Kathak as well as Odissi dancer is interested in exploring the dance forms beyond the
conventional codified format to enter the terrain of experimental in relation to theatrical space.
Abhija has also conducted several theater workshops with Kids and Adults. Apart from that,
Abhija regularly conducts ‘Acting for Cinema’ workshops catered specifically for aspiring film
actors through her Studio ‘Vanta Black’. Apart from several films lined up, Abhija is currently
working on ‘Entropy’, commissioned by Serendipity Arts Festival as part of Special Project
Program 2021.

Jijo K Mathew

Jijo K Mathew is an actor, actor trainer ,designer and administrator in theatre and visual
media. He has received his Masters from Department of Theatre Arts, University of Hyderabad,
and Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from School of Drama & Fine Arts, University of Calicut.
Jijo has been working in theatre for the last 15 years in the field of theatre and visual media. As
an actor Jijo has worked in over 54 productions with renowned theatre directors nationally and
internationally. His area of specialization is in Stanislavskian acting systems and Chekhovian
systems. He is currently working on developing ‘nerves transcription’ techniques for theatre
and minimalistic acting process for camera. He has worked as an actor and acting expert in
various groups which has travelled and performed in different festivals in India.
He has been associated with prominent Theatre directors like Jane Collins (London), Abhilash
Pillai (Delhi), S. Ramanujam (Tamil Nadu), Basavalingaiah (Bangalore),Gunakar dev Gowswami
(Assam), Deepan Sivaraman (Kerala), Rajiv Vellichetty (Hyderabad), Dilip Shankar (Bombay) and
Noushad Mohamed Kunju (Singapore), Jose Chirammel (Kerala), Rajendra Panchal (Rajasthan)
and many more. He worked at Neo film school Kochi, as resident faculty in acting dept. He has
conducted various theatre workshops for children and adults across the country. Jijo has been
the resource person for Teachers Training Program conducted by Government of Kerala. He is
one of the founding member of ‘Merkaba’ travelling performers commune.

Katarina Rasic

Katarina Rasic is an artist and art teacher from Belgrade, Serbia, working and living in Mumbai. Through traveling and experiencing new places, her art is constantly changing and developing new levels, exploring different ways of expression, through painting, installation and performance work. Working as part of IB world school teachers, Rasic is constantly implementing her artistic experience in her teaching practice, trying to widen experience of her students. She graduated with a Masters in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, and
she has been awarded a stipend for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia.
Rasic is a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia.


She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in Serbia and abroad. She was working on the project, Art Adda together with Jeetin Rangher, performance art intervention in ruined buildings and spaces in Bangalore, supported by The Indian Foundation for Art through a project 560 in 2014. In 2015, she started Dream Box, an ongoing performance art series in Sri Lanka, and then continued in Belgrade. In 2016 Katarina was part of Colombo Art Biennale at Sri Lanka. Currently, she is working on a project, Melting Pot – a traveling exhibition of 4 women artists, showed in Kochi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Belgrade and London. Rasic is actively collaborating with Mumbai based art organisation Art Oxygen, from beginning of 2017, and
together they worked on projects like Mumbai Conversations (April), Monsoon in a bottle (September) and upcoming 3-month public art festival Encounters (October-December). http://www.artoxygen.org

Jeetin Rangher

Jeetin Rangher is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bangalore, India. With an education in painting and design, his interest in the Arts is nurtured by his sensitivity to his surroundings of both the natural and social environment. He initiated the Green World Art Festival in November 2010 which continued in 2011, 2012. He has been working with different communities in conflict zones in Kashmir, India. HEALING HANDS- ART INTERVENTION IN CONFLICT ZONES is his project conducted in Jammu and Kashmir. Through his expressions in the visual arts, Rangher’s main concern over the years has been man’s intervention in the natural world.



His performances are responses and critical reflections on our social, cultural, as well as political behaviour. The artist has been intensively involved with community art and special needs kids, conducting workshops with them. His recent project, Art Adda was created with the support of a grant from the India Foundation for Arts as a part of Project 560 named after the Bangalore postal code 560. Art Adda was an intervention into found space in the heavily populated and cosmopolitan city of Bangalore. Through his performances, Rangher takes his body into public spaces to interact with the audience. Rangher says, “My works are more about self-healing, they are about transformation and change through sharing and connecting. They are meant to be raw and subtle, intense and beautiful. I want to shake people by shaking myself. I believe the body is the most nostalgic element, the most vivid, vital, dynamic, powerful and beautiful, one where the past, present and future coexist, where life and death make synthesis, where I can find my fears and hopes, my memories and most importantly my strength, drive and spirit.”



More recently, Rangher has focused on creating site-specific performances that are not planned in advance, but made in response to a location that is selected upon arrival. He has been involved in art activism through his performances and he has been a part of numerous performances as well as other types of festivals, and multidisciplinary arts projects in India and South Asia. http://artaddaindia.blogspot.in/.

Soch Studio is a residency project, which Rangher created with the artist Katarina Rasic in Bangalore and is an ongoing project. Rangher’s most recent performances were at the Serendipity Art Festival, Colombo Biennale, Jaipur Art Summit to name a few.

Firos Khan

After Graduating from School of school of drama Thrissur, in 2007 and National School of
drama, NewDelhi, in 2010, Firos Khan has been working extensively as a freelance designer and
pedagogue.


His work in theatre includes employment in Costume Design, Scenography, video installation
for performances, stage management, Technical direction, Public performances, devised
performance and project management. He worked as a writer, director, performance maker

and designer with renowned theatre directors and groups in the country and a few abroad. His
area of interest is in the conversation between space, body and various means of
performance, ranging from text to digital media. And how this Conversation could kick off a
multi layered sensorial experiences in performance.
